STATEMENT OF THE EMBASSY OF ECUADOR IN THE UNITED STATES ABOUT THE EARTHQUAKE THAT TOOK PLACE IN ECUADOR
The Embassy of Ecuador in the United States reiterates its solidarity with the victims of the earthquake in the coast of Ecuador and expresses its condolences to the families who lost loved ones.
We share to the Ecuadorian community in the United States, IMPORTANT information about the different support/communication actions after the earthquake.

THE EMBASSY OF ECUADOR IN WASHINGTON DC AND ALL THE CONSULATES OF ECUADOR TO THE UNITED STATES HAVE OPENED THEIR DOORS TO RECEIVE MATERIAL DONATIONS.
Washington DC donations will be received at the offices of the Embassy of Ecuador/Consulate of Ecuador (2535 15th St. NW) Monday to Friday from 09h00 to 20h00 and Saturday and Sunday from 09h00 to 16h00, for the residents of the District of Columbia, Virginia and Maryland areas.

It is important to clarify that the National Secretariat of Risk Management has arranged that at this time only the following materials are a priority:

- PORTABLE LAMPS - LED OR RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES

Depending on needs and priorities, only the designated items may be received at the Embassy and Consulates at this time. PLEASE DON’T BRING ANY MEDICINES OR CLOTHING BECAUSE WE WON’T BE ABLE TO RECEIVE THOSE. We will inform if priorities change and such items are needed in the future.
INDEPENDENT DONATIONS (OUTSIDE COLLECTION CENTERS)
The National Service of Ecuador Customs has reported that all Ecuadorian citizens who are outside Ecuadorian territory and wish to make donations of emergency items, that those shipments to Ecuador will be exempt from the payment of taxes, according to the following process:
1) For shipments to ECUADOR, they must do so on behalf of:
Secretariat of Risk Management (SGR) / SECRETARÍA DE GESTIÓN DE RIESGOS
Servicio Nacional de Aduana del Ecuador (SENAE)
2) These shipments can be made by any means of transport (air, land, sea) on account of the donor.
